The study abroad application process for Meredith and Affiliate programs begins with multiple touchpoints throughout the advising process with the OIP. These touchpoints include study abroad workshops, study abroad fairs, 1:1 advising meetings, and interacting with the OIP through email and social media.
Starting the advising process early is recommended. Below you鈥檒l see helpful steps to start you on your journey.
Advising Steps
- : No matter which program you choose, all students who are interested in study abroad are encouraged to attend this workshop as a first step in the advising process.
- Come to the Annual Study Abroad Fair in September: Every year, the OIP hosts our biggest study abroad event of the year where students can learn about program options for the upcoming year, as well as speak to faculty, study abroad alums, and affiliate providers.
- Schedule a study abroad advising appointment: If a student needs more guidance, they are welcome to schedule a study abroad advising appointment. For students wishing to explore Affiliate programs, it is highly recommended that students begin the 1:1 advising process early and often to ensure they are meeting application requirements and deadlines.
- : Once a student has chosen a program, a Funding Workshop can provide valuable information related to study abroad program budgets, scholarships, additional financial aid, and creative saving strategies!
- Attend study abroad info sessions related to your programs of interest.听
- Visit the OIP Identity-Based Resources web pages to explore thought-provoking reflection questions, safety considerations, and student stories that might help you choose the best destination for you.
Affiliate Programs
- Students wishing to explore affiliate programs are invited to take special note of the application instructions here.
- Applying for an affiliate program takes initiative, follow-through, and thoughtful planning, so it is best to start that journey as early as possible!

Affiliate Program External Deadlines: Many affiliate programs have different deadlines than Meredith. Please check with your affiliate program provider to ensure you are aware of their deadlines, which could impact how soon you need to apply through Meredith.
