Top Four Reasons to Go Strong in Summer School at Meredith
- Published
Summer school is a great way to get ahead or to catch up on your studies. But that’s not the only benefit of taking Meredith courses during the summer.
Here are the top four reasons to attend summer school at Meredith:
Study with Meredith faculty remotely. Meredith is offering online courses for Summer 2020, which means you can learn from the same highly qualified faculty you know and trust, right from your home. There are online courses offered in a variety of disciplines, including art, communication, political science, music, and Spanish.
Use time efficiently. Summer School is a great way to complete credits quickly. One of our courses – digital media convergence – is a five-day intensive. Or you could complete a general education requirement in only nine weeks.
Catch Up or Get Ahead. We have courses that fulfill all the possible general education requirements – from mathematics, to arts and aesthetics, lab sciences, and even activity courses. This is particularly a great benefit for incoming freshmen who are looking to get a headstart on their studies. Incoming freshmen who register for summer courses will also have the added benefit of meeting with a counselor and getting your fall schedule earlier than normal.
Save money. Attending summer school is cost-effective. Here’s how:
Pell Grants can now be used for summer coursework. (Contact Meredith Financial Assistance for more information about applying Pell Grant funds.)
Students who are eligible to receive a room and board refund grant because of the COVID-19 pandemic can use that refund to pay summer school tuition.
Incoming freshmen can apply their deposit to tuition. They can also finance summer school tuition through their payment plan for 2020-21. (Incoming freshmen can end up making an initial payment of as little as $160 to take a 3-credit course.)
Meredith’s co-educational summer session options include multiple three- and six-week sessions and a full-term session that runs from May through August.
