Thanking Our 糖心Vlog Educators

In August, the Office of Alumnae Relations wanted to celebrate alumnae educators, administrators, and school personnel whether they were part of a year-round program or heading back to work for the start of a new school year. Alumnae were asked to self identify to receive 糖心Vlog swag for their office or classroom. It was a way for the Alumnae Office to say thank you for all they do to educate the hearts and minds of students.
Alumnae filled out a Google form to receive a Meredith branded pennant, name badge holder, and a pen. They were also provided a flyer to post in their classrooms with a list of the admissions dates such as open houses, application deadlines, and the special alumnae and prospective student open house, Discover Meredith, coordinated by Alumnae Relations with the Office of Admissions on October 2, 2021.
鈥淥ur office was overwhelmed by the response from our alumnae teachers and administrators. We received over 600 entries on our Google form,鈥 said Hilary Allen, director of alumnae relations. 鈥淲e wanted to be sure we could fulfill every single request and celebrate all of our alumnae educators so we had to order additional giveaway items. What a wonderful problem to have. We were so happy to celebrate them and encouraged them to put up the admission date flyer and pennant in their classrooms to show their students their Meredith pride.鈥澛
A special note placed in the package with the swag and flyer encouraged alumnae to post photos with their Meredith items on the Alumnae Facebook Group page.
Talley Rouse Evans, 始06, an elementary school teacher in Wendell, N.C., posted a photo of herself holding her Meredith swag on the Alumnae Facebook Group page. 鈥淚 am so excited to show my Meredith spirit everyday while teaching with my new goodies! Big thanks to the Alumnae Office for these special gifts!鈥
Heather Fowler, 始11, a teacher at West Stokes High School said, 鈥淭hanks for the extra swag! I love representing Meredith to my high school students. And telling the boys how they wish they could go to Meredith!鈥
Lisa Loftis Obermiller, 始84, a Polk County Middle School teacher said, 鈥淟oving my Meredith bling! Thank you for recognizing educators!鈥
Anita Waters Alpenfels, 始85, shared some kind words after receiving her mailing. 鈥淲hat a delightful package I received in the mail. Thank you to all for recognizing our educators, including me. In my mind, there’s no greater work, other than the work of a parent. I’m glad Angels are getting that work done!鈥
