Performing Arts Double Feature Planned on October 24-25
- Published
Meredith’s Theatre and Music programs are providing an opportunity for a double feature of performing arts — outdoors — later this week. Audiences can attend a performance of Medea and a choral concert on the same day.
Meredith Ensemble Theatre is presenting Medea in McIver Amphitheatre several times over the next few weeks. Based upon the ancient myth of Jason and Medea, Euripides’ tragedy Medea explores the themes of loss, belonging, and revenge. Remaining performances are October 24 at 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., October 25 at 4:30 p.m., and October 31 at 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Visit the Arts Events page for more information. Reservations are required. Reserve a ticket for Medea.
Choral Concert on October 24-25
There will also be a choral concert, We Shall Be Known: How?, in the amphitheater on October 24 and 25 at 3:45 p.m. Chorale will be premiering a new piece at this concert, with text that relates closely to the themes in Medea.
The play and the concert are free to attend, and audiences can choose to go to both. Wearing a face covering and appropriate physical distancing will be required. To attend the concert, contact a choir member or email Director of Choral Activities Shannon Gravelle for the appropriate paperwork.
For those that are unable to attend the choral concert in person, a virtual release of the performance will be available at the beginning of November. Follow Meredith’s Music Department on or for more information.
