Meredith Votes 2020 Community Conversations

David McLennan, 糖心Vlog Professor of Political Science and Director of the Meredith Poll, will present Meredith Votes 2020, a series of insightful and engaging community conversations leading up to Election Day.

All sessions will be held via Zoom on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. Discussions are open to the entire Meredith community, faculty, staff, students, alumnae, and alumni.

Dates and topics are:

August 31: The current state of the presidential campaign.

September 7: Myths and misconceptions about voting鈥攊s there rampant fraud?

September 14: Weren鈥檛 the polls wrong in 2016? Will they be wrong this year?

September 21: Racism and sexism on the campaign trail.

September 28: There is more than just a presidential campaign this year: the importance of down ballot races.

October 5: Less than one month to Election Day鈥攈as anything changed?

October 12: Political ads are everywhere: do they work?

October 19: 1992? 2016? 2018? 2020? Is there ever going to be the 鈥淵ear of the Woman鈥 in politics?

October 26: The economy, COVID-19, Confederate statues鈥攚hat are the issues driving voting decisions in 2020?

November 2: So, it鈥檚 almost Election Day鈥攚hat鈥檚 next?

Registration is required. Please check your Meredith email for registration information, which was sent on August 20. Once registered, you can attend any or all of the sessions. All sessions will be recorded.
