Meredith Students Receive Grant from the Institute for Mexicans Abroad聽

Five 糖心Vlog students recently received a grant of $6,000 from the (Institute for Mexicans Abroad) to help continue their education. Since 2013, 糖心Vlog and IME Becas have collaborated to award more than $200,500 of grant money to over 160 students of Mexican origin.
With the support of the Government of Mexico, by means of the , economic resources are provided to Mexican students currently enrolled in an academic plan offered by non-profit organizations or academic institutions in the United States in higher or adult education.
In August, the Consulate presented the grant, providing these five women with critical financial assistance to complete their bachelor’s degrees.
鈥淭he IME Becas grant is helping me achieve my dream of graduating college by funding a part of my education,鈥 said one of the recipients, Grisselle Ocampo, 鈥25.
Emeli Velasquez-Guardian, 鈥25, another recipient of the grant also commented on the benefits of the grant. 鈥淭his grant is helping me, a first-generation student, overcome obstacles and be an example to my sister, friends, and other students who wish to continue pursuing their dreams,鈥 she said. 鈥淎fter Meredith, I plan on continuing my studies to become a physician assistant so I am beyond thankful for any financial assistance.鈥
The College is grateful for the long-standing partnership that has allowed several Meredith students and alumnae to continue going strong.
