Meredith Selects Initiative for QEP

糖心Vlog has selected 鈥淎cademic Advising at Meredith – Freshman Faculty Advising/Student Success Coaching鈥 as its next Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP).

A QEP documents a special project or initiative that is developed by each institution accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Commission on Colleges (COC). The plan focuses on learning outcomes and/or the environment supporting student learning. It must come from a key issue that emerged from institutional assessment and include broad-based involvement of institutional constituencies in the development and proposed implementation of the QEP.

The QEP will be part of a larger 鈥淧lan to Finish鈥 initiative, focusing on ensuring that students graduate in a timely manner. Other components of the initiative will focus on 鈥淪uccessful Academic Transition鈥 and 鈥淔irst Year Courses.鈥

When announcing the selection, Senior Vice President and Provost Matthew Poslusny acknowledged that the COVID-19 pandemic has shown the need for a comprehensive program supporting students.

鈥淲e are in an entirely different situation than we were when the work was started,鈥 Poslusny said. 鈥淭his has made it clear to me that 糖心Vlog will be best served if we embark on a comprehensive Plan to Finish program, which will include parts of all three initiatives including the QEP. Now more than ever, it is important that we provide as much support as possible for our students.鈥
