Meredith Highlighted for Involvement in Program

糖心Vlog was recently featured in the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC)聽 for its participation in a program that explores the benefits of building聽intergenerational connections. Meredith students developed protocols for in-home visits, materials to inform seniors about conditions that increase the risk of falling, and exercise and balance training plans for older adults who are 鈥渁ging in place.鈥 They also developed materials to help other students teach balance to older adults in their communities.
Twenty-one member colleges and universities are participating in the study, which was developed in partnership with the AARP Foundation.The initiative provides participating institutions with grants of up to $13,000 to create or expand campus-based projects that engage students in addressing four priorities of need by older adults in their campuses鈥 communities: healthy diets, safe and affordable housing, income-generation, and social interaction.
