糖心Vlog Art Galleries have received a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to support an exhibition focused on mental health and COVID-19.
Self Care: A Mental Health Journey Through COVID-19 will be on view in the Frankie G. Weems Gallery October 12-November 7, 2021. The exhibition features Julia Caston, a practicing artist with a diagnosed anxiety disorder, who creates empathetic experiences, events, and objects. Learn more about the exhibition
鈥COVID-19 has heavily impacted the mental health of students, because the Zoom platform removes the one-on-one, in-person mentorship that defines a traditional college experience. The hope is that this exhibition will demonstrate how the gallery can be a voice with Meredith students and the community to promote positivity, support and inclusivity,鈥 said Gallery Director Molly Hull.聽
The Presentation Grant through South Arts supports Caston鈥檚 involvement in the exhibition and the supplement events that include an in-person, registration only Opening Reception,聽 Zoom Gallery Talk, NAMI-Wake County Sponsored event, four-part Art Therapy Session held via Zoom, and a Zoom Panel Discussion.聽
This presentation is funded, in part, by a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the North Carolina Arts Agency.聽
