Altman Joins Local Meals on Wheels Board of Directors

Michael Altman, Hospitality and Tourism Management Program Director and Instructor, has been named to the board of Meals on Wheels of Wake County.聽

Altman has delivered for the organization for two years. He was inspired by his father鈥檚 service in Toronto over the past decade.Michael Altman 2020

鈥淚 love delivering and connecting with my clients every week,鈥 Altman said. 鈥淎s a member of the board, I will support the organization in achieving its mission to ensure that no senior in Wake County is left isolated or hungry.鈥

Meredith Assistant Professor of Food and Nutrition Rachel Findley, who serves as board chair, welcomed Altman to the board.

鈥淢ichael has a wealth of knowledge in the hospitality industry and will be a tremendous asset to our mission,鈥 Findley said. 鈥淢ichael has volunteered for several years and his agreement to serve on the board of directors ensures his love for helping the seniors in our community.”

Meals on Wheels of Wake County serves lunchtime meals to over 1,800 homebound older adults and persons with disabilities. Over 2,200 volunteers help us deliver meals Monday through Friday each week. .
