Applying to Meredith

A birds eye view of Johnson Hall and the front of Meredith.

We are so excited that you are considering joining the Meredith community!

International students are an integral and valued part of this community, with over 40 students from more than 25 different countries currently here on F-1 visas. International applicants generally follow the same admission processes as U.S. applicants, though there are a few extra steps given certain visa requirements. Graduate and Undergraduate Admissions Offices, as well as the Office of International Programs, are here and ready to assist you with any questions you may have along the way.

To get the process started, connect with Undergraduate Admissions or Graduate Admissions, whichever is relevant. Once you begin your application, you may come back to it as many times as necessary before submitting it. Note that while the initially looks the same for both undergraduate and graduate applicants, once you create your account, you will be able to select which application you need.

Paying for Meredith

The estimated cost of tuition and fees are posted each year on Meredith’s Accounting Office website. Further details — particularly the estimated cost of living — can be found on your respective (graduate or undergraduate) Certificate of Financial Responsibility (CFR). While international students are not eligible for many U.S. government-funded grants and scholarships, ÌÇÐÄVlog does offer some institutional scholarships that international students may apply for.

International students are encouraged to connect with Meredith’s Office of Financial Assistance for information about scholarship eligibility and application processes.

Many local, regional, and national organizations sponsor scholarship programs that international students may be eligible to apply for. Resources include:

  • Online community of international students studying in the United States; their recommended scholarships.
  • Online scholarship search service.
  • Online resource dedicated to helping students fund international education.
  • Online scholarship database for international students wishing to study worldwide.

  • An extra scholarship resource specifically for international students with disabilities.

A very limited number of loans may be available to international students meeting certain criteria. Most require a U.S. cosigner who is responsible for payment if for any reason you are unable to pay back the loan. One online resource for loans is available at . Additionally, some organizations and governments provide assistance that is targeted to students from specific regions or countries and who meet certain criteria. For example, the Organization of American States offers interest-free loans to students from Latin American and Caribbean countries to help finance their graduate, postgraduate, and final two years of undergraduate studies at accredited universities within the United States.
