Undergraduate Scholarships

At Meredith, we know there are many ways to be strong. We also know the world needs even more women who are prepared to meet today鈥檚 鈥 and tomorrow鈥檚 鈥 challenges.听

That鈥檚 why we offer generous merit-based scholarships starting at $20,000 to all first-year admitted students. We also offer generous merit-based scholarships specifically for transfer students.

$20,000 – 27,000 Annually

This scholarship acknowledges your academic achievements and represents 糖心Vlog鈥檚 investment in you and your education. With satisfactory academic progress, the award is renewable for up to four years, for a total value of $80,000 to $108,000.听

All first-year students who meet Meredith鈥檚 admission requirements will receive a minimum $20,000 annual scholarship.

Admitted first-year students who meet the following academic听requirements will receive the award amounts listed below.*

  • Minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA 鈥 annual award of $22,000
  • Minimum 3.4 unweighted GPA 鈥 annual award of $24,000
  • Minimum 3.75 unweighted GPA 鈥 annual award of $25,000
  • 4.0 unweighted GPA 鈥 annual award of $27,000

Beginning with the fall 2023 term, first-year students who meet or exceed Meredith鈥檚 academic standards for admission and demonstrate significant achievement and leadership potential.

Simply apply to 糖心Vlog. No separate application is needed. Every admitted first-year student who meets the academic requirements will receive an annual award of $20,000 -$27,000.



A four-year, fully funded educational experience for exceptional student leaders at 糖心Vlog

This prestigious scholarship is the highest honor available to first-year students. The听Full-Ride听Merit Scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement, leadership, service, and character. Recipients receive full tuition, housing in residence halls, food, books, supplies, international study, and other academic enrichment programs with a total estimated value of $230,000.

First-year students with a superior academic record, demonstrated leadership and service to others, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.

听To be considered, you will submit a Full-Ride Scholarship application along with your resume, an essay, and two recommendations.

Transfer Scholarships

Meredith offers academic grants and scholarships to recognize transfer students whose previous college records reflect superior academic ability, achievement, and leadership potential.

$5,000 Annual Scholarship

For transfer students听who are members of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society.听

Transfer students with 30 or more transferable credits who have been inducted into PTK.
Noting your Phi Theta Kappa induction on your application for admission is your application for the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship. Documentation of induction such as a copy of your induction letter, induction certificate, ID card, or notation of PTK induction on your official college transcript is required for the Scholarship to be awarded.

Range from $8,500 鈥 $13,000

Transfer Academic听Scholarships recognize transfer students whose previous college records reflect superior academic ability, achievement, and leadership potential.

Your application for admission is your application for Academic听Scholarships. A holistic review of your application is completed. Award amounts may be determined by such factors as grades reflected on your college transcript(s) at the time of admission, credits completed, and the college official recommendation.

For exceptional students who want to pursue听a rigorous curriculum that reflects the highest accomplishment in research, creativity and thought at the College.

Applicants must have a minimum 3.75 unweighted GPA and be included in the top 10% of their high school graduating class (when rank exists). The Honors Program is test-optional.

$1,000 annual scholarship; travel with honors students; specialized advising; supportive, dynamic community; recognition on transcript and at Commencement; opportunities for study abroad scholarships; honors colloquia courses

A dynamic educational experience enriched with opportunities to receive classroom experience, learn from professional teachers, volunteer for community projects, and study abroad.

Exceptional high school seniors interested in the teaching profession.

Two-year mentorship with a Wake County teacher; broad teacher licensure choices; domestic and international travel opportunities; monthly seminars designed around current topics in education; Focus on Excellence cultural and social events

A scholarship program for first-year students planning to major in English and add a teaching licensure in middle听or high school English.

For students听pursuing听careers in STEM

First Year, Biology Major, Chemistry Major, Computer Science Major, Engineering Major, Mathematics Major

Profile

Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA and plan to major in a STEM field. The STEM Scholars Program is test-optional.

Benefits

AWE-STEM Scholars (need and merit based): $4,000 per year; Paschal Scholars: $1000 per year. Specialized learning community,听mentoring program, and expert speakers on topics of interest for women in STEM.

Talent

Competitive scholarships for outstanding art students

Student Type

First Year, Art Major (studio art, graphic design or art education)

Profile

First-year student admitted to the college by January 6. Applicants are selected to receive scholarships on the basis of artistic talent.

Benefits

Renewable annually for a total of four years, subject to the recipient听remaining in good standing, being a full-time student pursuing a major in art, and maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0 on all art courses taken at 糖心Vlog.

For full-time students with an interest in creative writing.

Profile

The scholarship recipient is determined on the basis of scholarship and potential for success in creative writing. The applicant听should have an unweighted minimum high school GPA of 3.0

Benefits

Renewable annually for four years, subject to the recipient’s remaining in good standing and maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0 on all courses taken at Meredith.

Additional Scholarships

A scholarship for Pell-eligible students whose parents or guardians died in the line of duty while performing as a public safety officer.

Pell-eligible students whose parents or guardians died in the line of duty while performing as a public safety officer.

Benefits

Maximum Pell Grants for the award year. In addition, student’s elibility for Direct Loans and for Campus-Based program aid must be based on an EFC of zero.

Profile

Must be a member of a North Carolina Baptist church and recommended by a church official. Awarded听to incoming freshman on the basis of academic excellence, outstanding service to church and/or community, and leadership ability, without regard to financial need.

Benefits

$1,500 annually. Renewable for a total of four years, if recipient remains in good standing, is a full-time student, and maintains a minimum quality point ratio of 2.5 on courses taken at Meredith.
