Teresa Holder is an accomplished teacher and a dedicated academic administrator.
With more than 30 years of teaching experience, Holder teaches COM theory, Introduction to Communication, Introduction to Public Relations, Internships and Senior Thesis.
One of Holder’s passions as a teacher is to help students understand and build on their strengths as leaders and communicators. In addition to CliftonStrengths® exposure all Meredith students receive, communication majors have the opportunity to learn about their emotional intelligence strengths. Holder is certified in emotional intelligence for higher education.
Outside the classroom setting, Holder enjoys working one-on-one with students. During her time at Meredith, she has supervised more than 60 independent research projects, including eight honors students, 14 CSA presenters, and one ÌÇÐÄVlog UN CSW Fellow (Commission on the Status of Women).
In her role as communication department chair, Holder oversees 3 full-time and several part-time faculty members. Holder has been instrumental in growing the communication department and expanding the number of opportunities students have to apply skills developed in the classroom.
