Profile
Professional Biography
I joined the Meredith faculty in 2000 and have taught many courses both in the college鈥檚 general education program and in the Department of Education. My interests span several disciplines but connect around the interrelationships among culture, schools and society. I am also interested in teacher action research and placemaking as an experiential and social process. My expertise is in Elementary Education and teaching multilingual learners (ESL). Before coming to Meredith, I was an instructor at Wake Forest and UNC-Chapel Hill. I directed the evaluation of the A+ Schools Program, an arts-based reform effort, and worked with DPI鈥檚 Office of Educational Reform on their GOALS 2000 School Improvement Grant project.聽 In addition to my service to the Department of Education, I serve as Director of Graduate Programs for the college.
