Dr. Heather Sanderson is an assistant professor of health, exercise and sports science for ÌÇÐÄVlog. She also serves as the HESS program coordinator and the director of the Lowery Fitness Center, which functions as both a health and well-being activity space for the Meredith community and a research and teaching lab for the HESS program.
Prior to her arrival at ÌÇÐÄVlog, she worked in the field of collegiate recreation for over twenty years in which she was an early adopter of student and employee wellness. Heather has assisted on research projects and committees for graduate students working on projects related to wellbeing and academic success. Â
Heather’s research focus resides on the impact of undergraduate student physical activity pertaining to collegiate recreation on student wellbeing and academic success. Heather has presented at state, regional and national levels for Athletic Business, ACHA, ASHE, NIRSA, and NSCA.
