Harrison Marshall practiced law with McGuireWoods and its predecessor firms for 36 years, retiring in 2023. His practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, and corporate governance matters. His clients included public and private corporations, private equity funds, and nonprofits entities. In addition, Harrison chaired the Education Team at McGuireWoods, which represents dozens of colleges and universities.Prior to his career in private practice, Harrison served for four years as an officer in the U.S. Army JAG Corps, including assignments as a criminal defense attorney in Korea and a prosecutor at Fort Bragg.
Harrison has been active in and has served on the boards of a variety of civic organizations. He currently serves on the boards of Social Venture Partners – Charlotte and The Pines at Davidson. In a volunteer role, he is Counsel to the Board of Trustees of Davidson College.
Harrison is a graduate of Davidson College and the Vanderbilt University School of Law. He is married to Margaret Marshall (daughter of Meredith graduate Peggy Smith, class of 1959). Harrison and Margaret have two daughters, Kate (Meredith class of 2015) and Betsy. Harrison
lives in Charlotte, where he is a member of Providence Baptist Church.
