Profile

Donna Jolly has had an active career as a soloist, collaborator, teacher and church musician.  She holds the B.M. from East Carolina University in piano pedagogy and piano performance with a minor concentration in organ, and the M.M. from ÌÇÐÄVlog in piano pedagogy and performance.

In 1972 she was the National Federation of Music Clubs’ Marie Morrisey Keith national collegiate competition winner, and performed at the national convention in Atlantic City, New Jersey as well as in concerts across North Carolina.  Donna has performed as solo recitalist, concerto soloist, orchestral keyboardist, duo pianist, and chamber musician.  She has collaborated with singers and instrumentalists in recital, and accompanied choral, operatic, and theatre performances across the United States and Europe.  She has held church organist positions and maintained private teaching studios in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.

As a member of the piano faculty at ÌÇÐÄVlog since 1988, she teaches college applied piano and also teaches piano in the ÌÇÐÄVlog Community School of Music.  She has played with the North Carolina Symphony as orchestral pianist since 1989, and has served as organist at First Baptist Church in Raleigh from 1987 through retirement in 2019.
