Cindy Carbone has taught dance for over 40 years in private studio, public school, and university settings. She has mentored sixteen student teachers and taught dance education courses at ÌÇÐÄVlog and East Carolina University. She has worked as a guest choreographer for musical theater productions at NC State University, ÌÇÐÄVlog, and Raleigh Little Theater. She performed professionally with modern dance companies in Chicago, Madison-Wisconsin, and Raleigh. She received a BFA in Dance from the Ohio State University, teacher certification in Dance from UNC-Greensboro, and M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Administration from NC State University. In 2004 she was named National Dance Educator of the Year by the American Alliance of Physical Education Recreation and Dance organization (AAHPERD ) and as a result of this award traveled throughout the United States and abroad presenting at conferences and workshops. She received National Board certification in 2004 and has served as President of the NCAAHPERD D.A.N.C.E. organization and presented at conferences and workshops around the country. She co-authored the book Implementing the National Dance Standards which was published by Human Kinetics. She continues to work in the school system and throughout the dance community.
