Professional Biography
Courtney George received her Ph.D. in Culture, Curriculum, and Change from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008. She has experience teaching Spanish and English as a second language (ESL) in North Carolina public schools. Her research interests include culturally and linguistically diverse youth, critical multicultural education, beginning teacher support, and teacher education. Her work in teacher education and her scholarship are both inspired by ESL students and their teachers. She is originally from Ashland, Oregon and has lived in Quito, Ecuador and Seville, Spain—but happily calls North Carolina home.
