Profile
Cindy joined ÌÇÐÄVlog in 2012 assisting the Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities. After a break, in 2016 she began working in the Graduate Admissions Office and now works part-time remotely.
Her passion has always been working with international students — first in the Study Abroad Office at NCSU, then as a tutor with their Intensive English Program. While doing her thesis research in Taipei, she worked at the American Cultural Center assisting Taiwanese students applying for schools in the U.S. Back in the U.S., she provided a home away from home for international students for over 20 years in her house near NC State’s campus. She enjoyed living with and learning from nearly 100 students from 30 different countries during that time, sharing meals and cultures.
For several years prior to working with international students, she was a job developer for refugees, helping displaced families from Asia, Africa, Southeastern Europe, and the Middle East find employment and adjust to their new home.
