Chelsea Waddelow MMT, MT-BC, is a board-certified music therapist, teacher, and performer. She received a BM in music performance from ÌÇÐÄVlog studying piano with Dr. Lyman and a BA studying composition with Dr. Vaglio. After graduating from Meredith in 2011, Chelsea went on to receive an equivalency and Masters in Music Therapy from Appalachian State University.  Chelsea returned to Raleigh to found her own private practice, Opus 1 Music Therapy, and specializes in serving children and teens with special needs. Her research interests include psychophysiological responses to music and thematic analysis of popular music for therapeutic application. In addition to her work as a music therapist, Chelsea maintains an active teaching and performing career, accompanying musical theater and opera productions in NC, OK, and TX, serving in several roles on the production staff for White Iris Light Opera, performing regularly in the Oklahoma Haydn Festival, serving as pianist for the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra, writing critiques of local performances for CVNC, and serving as the Minister of Music at Church of the Holy Family in Chapel Hill. She teaches Music Therapy, Functional Guitar for Music Therapists, and frequently appears on campus playing for various receptions, productions, and events.
