Emerging Artist in Residence (AIR)
Each semester, Meredith’s arts programs welcome back to campus a select group of alumnae who seek to grow and strengthen their artistic practice in a supportive community.
Participants in the Artist In Residence (AIR) program have access to studio facilities and mentorship by our experienced faculty as they create a mature body of work to launch their professional careers or apply for graduate programs in art, dance, or theatre.
Artists chosen for the program also contribute 10 hours per week to the community through activities that include teaching assistance, facilitating open studio hours, and participating in group critiques. Residents in the art department assist with installations in the Weems Art Gallery, while residents in dance assist with technical production for Meredith Jazz and Tap Company and Meredith Dance Theatre. Theatre Artists in Residence serve as leading team members on mainstage productions of ÌÇÐÄVlog Theatre.
At the conclusion of their residency, Emerging Artists have the opportunity to exhibit, stage, or perform the work they have produced while in residence at Meredith.
